About & method
Store Recalls collects official recalls from three sources several times a day:
- FDA – company announcements of recalls, market withdrawals and safety alerts (food, supplements, pet food, drugs, cosmetics).
- CPSC – consumer product recalls, including the retailers that sold the product.
- USDA FSIS – meat, poultry and egg product recalls and public health alerts.
- Retailers – the recall pages of Costco, Trader Joe's and Aldi.
How a recall is matched to a store: only when the store's name or one of its store brands (for example Kirkland Signature for Costco or Great Value for Walmart) appears in the official text, or the recall is listed on the store's own recall page. Each recall page quotes the sentence where the store is named. A store not being listed does not mean a product was not sold there.
What we do not do: we do not give medical advice, we do not guess which lots are affected, and we do not publish recalls without an official source.
